Playstation Network still down nearly 12 hours later UPDATE: It’s back up!

One day before Sony’s CES 2016 keynote, Playstation Network has taken a nose dive. The network has been down today since 9AM PST and continues to be out.

Sony had this to say this afternoon on Twitter about it:

We’re aware that some users are having trouble accessing PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate. http://bit.ly/22H7SGW

Other than that Sony has been pretty quiet about this. It isn’t clear what is causing the network to be down, perhaps Sony is really doing some maintenance behind the scenes. Maybe it was hackers though they would be a week or so late after the holidays.

We’ll keep you posted about this as the situation evolves.

UPDATE: PSN returned to normal operations around night time in the US yesterday. All services appear to be running now. Perhaps Sony will address this outage tonight during CES?
