Major video game companies take stance against the Defense of Marriage Act

Two of the biggest video game companies, Electronic Arts and Microsoft, have voiced their stance against the Defense of Marriage Act. The law which come to be in 1996 makes gay couples unable to receive the normal benefits that heterosexual couples are given as the law defines marriage as between a man and a woman.

EA has been a supporter of the LGBT community for years in many ways. The Mass Effect series is known for (and other BioWare games as well) allowing players to choose to save same-sex relations with other characters.

Microsoft is also against the Defense of Marriage Act as well. EA and Microsoft both say the law is discriminatory and unjust.

It’s great to see these industry giants stepping along with other mega-companies like The Gap and Google against this law. I support this 100%.
