Original Xbox Duke controller coming to Xbox One in March for,…$70!?

After teasing it throughout 2017, Microsoft has announced that they will be releasing an Xbox One version of the original Xbox “Duke” controller in March.

This wired version of the 2001 controller abomination will ship in March for, get this, $69.99. Yes, you read that right. A controller that relies mostly on the nostalgia value of early Xbox gamers (most consumers picked up the system after the standard controller was changed to the S controller) is both wired and $70. The same price as a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or a special edition Xbox One controller.

I will admit, I’d love to buy one just for the nostalgia of it but not at $70.

The middle of the controller now sports a small OLED screen that shows the original Xbox’s startup, which is nice as a concept but I can’t help but wonder why it made it into the final product. It just drives up the cost and the original didn’t have that feature in the first place.

I’m sure this re-released Duke controller will be swallowed up by OG-Xbox fans. I will be waiting for it to go on sale personally.
