Warner Bros takes over as Rocket League publisher

Rocket League is the biggest indie gaming success since the original Minecraft. It has sold tens of millions of copies since being the big free PS+ game on PS4 in July 2015. It’s become a cultural happening.

Developer Psyonix had been working with 505 Games, a publisher who brings digital indie games to retail. They announced today that Warner Bros will take over as the publisher for Rocket League.

No word on if this interferes with Psyonix’s ownership of the IP but I doubt they’d give that up.

Warner Bros will prepare a brand new physical version of the game to be sold in stores. Rocket League is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC and will soon be available on Nintendo Switch.
