January US NPD Sales Data: PS4 up 20% YoY but all consoles down 15% total
The NPD data for January is out and Sony takes the top spot once again. The PS4 was the best selling console during the month, with sales 20% over January 2015. That brings its total January sales to 230k.
Sadly, other consoles didn’t fare so well. All consoles were down 15% YoY even with Sony being up 20%. That means both Wii U and Xbox One were much further down than their January 2015 numbers.
Here are the top ten selling games:
Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
Star Wars: Battlefront (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Minecraft (360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3)
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
Lego Marvel Avengers (PS4, Xbox One, 360, Wii U, PS3, 3DS, Vita)
FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
We’ll have more information on the NPD data as it becomes available. As always, we’re waiting on reliable industry leakers to let loose on some data. As is, we’ve only got Sony’s 230k PS4 number to go off.
