New 360 BC titles announced for Xbox One, Witcher 2 free

Microsoft announced today a new batch of Xbox 360 titles that play on Xbox One. Here’s the list.

Aegis Wing
Age of Booty
Counter-Strike: GO
Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad Arcade
Sam & Max Save the World
Small Arms
Space Giraffe
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The Witcher 2 is free now for Xbox One owners through February 5th. In addition to this news, Microsoft is changing the way they release these BC games.

From now on, new titles will be add to the BC list whenever they’re ready, no more monthly updates. Major Nelson said this about the change:

In addition to adding a few new titles to the backward compatibility list, we’re also going to start releasing titles as they become available rather than a set monthly launch date. What this means for you is that you won’t have to wait to find out the latest titles; we’ll release whatever is available, when they’re available, once each title has received the engineering and publisher stamp of approval.

That’s a good move on Microsoft’s behalf. Waiting a whole month between updates can be grueling for fans, especially when MS is mum on it for weeks on end.

Hopefully they start adding more and more titles because 10 or so per month doesn’t seem to cut it.
