Assassin’s Creed Unity sells 780k copies in US despite poor reception, Rogue sells 120k
It looks like Assassin’s Creed Unity’s poor critical reviews and subpar fan reception due to technical issues won’t stop the money train. Unity sold 780k in its first week in stores in the US.
As far as per platform, the Xbox One version sold 390k copies while the PS4 version sold 347k. Assassin’s Creed Rogue, the PS3/360 exclusive adventure, sold 120k during the week with 73k of that on Xbox 360 and 47k on PS3.
While these sales might be a bit down for Assassin’s Creed, they are very healthy for a game with such a bad reception. Hopefully Ubisoft’s learn their lesson and fleshes out their next Assassin’s Creed title more so than Unity.
