Sakurai: Smash Bros development isn’t ‘finished’, hints at DLC?

Smash Bros series director Masahiro Sakurai seemingly hinted at Super Smash Bros DLC in the future. Not that this would be surprising due to games like Mario Golf, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors already receiving DLC packs and season passes but his comment teases that development on the game isn’t “finished” yet.

Sakurai said:

I’m not done yet… Game development is very hard. You cannot get through it without sacrificing everything, including your own private life, and you often get hurt. However, I’m grateful that so many people have been involved, for the games that are completed, and all the people who play the games.

Some fans are taking this comment badly, thinking that it means the Wii U version of Smash Bros will be delayed. Nintendo just announced that it will release November 21st so no, that can’t be the case.

Most likely this refers to post-release DLC and patches. That is the obvious answer, at least in my opinion. As the saying goes, the obvious answer is usually the correct one.
