Nintendo: MK8 passes 1M sold in US, Wii U sales up 60% vs 2013

Nintendo released some early NPD info today, confirming that Mario Kart 8 has sold over 1 million copies in the US since launching May 30th.

They say that Wii U hardware sales are up 60% in the US compared to the first half of 2013 and that Wii U software sales are up 135%.

In addition to this info, Nintendo released an updated list of 3DS million sellers in the US.

Mario Kart 7: 3.48 million
Super Mario 3D Land: 3.09 million
New Super Mario Bros. 2: 2.28 million
Pokémon X: 2.10 million
Pokémon Y: 2.01 million
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D: 1.39 million
Animal Crossing: New Leaf: 1.36 million
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon: 1.33 million
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds: 1.09 million

Looks like Mario Kart 8 is really boosting the Wii U in the US at least. The system had its best non-holiday month in June, selling 140k units. Whether it can top that or come close to that in July we’ll know in a few hours once the July NPD data becomes available.
