Sony: Powers segment at E3 was a ‘mistake’

Sony had a decent showing at E3 this year. By far the worst part of their press conference was the overly long segment dedicated to the Powers TV show coming to Playstation.

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida now admits that this segment dragged too long and didn’t focus enough on what the audience really wanted, saying:

We spent too much time talking about Powers. So we could have made [that] a bit shorter. So that was a mistake.

I can’t disagree with Yoshida and I’m happy to see him admit the mistake. While Powers sounds exciting, it wasn’t the right time to spend so much time on a non-gaming aspect of Playstation platforms, especially with a franchise that most people didn’t know.

Hopefully Sony doesn’t have any clear downers at next year’s E3.
