Borderlands The Pre-Sequel could come to PS4/XB1 with enough fan demand

While speaking to Total Xbox, the developers of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel say that there is a chance that the 360/PS3/PC game could come to PS4/Xbox One if fans ask for it enough.

They say:

I guess we’re full on developing the PS3, 360 and PC game, and we believe in that too. All the Borderlands 2 players are playing on those consoles. That’s the choice they’ve got. So we want to reward those guys. If fans say ‘hey, we’d really like this on a next-gen console’, well, we’ll think about that, but right now we’re concentrating on the consoles we know.

I do understand the reasoning for developing the game for 360/PS3 first. Debuting Borderlands with a minor sequel that just screams cash in on the new consoles would be a very bad move. It would be like launching that newly revealed Escape Dead Island on PS4/XB1 first, then Dead Island 2 at a later date.

Though I’m sure Gearbox will make sure that The Pre-Sequel gets a “definitive” port on PS4/Xbox One some time in 2015, with all released DLC included.
