Kaz Hirai and other Sony execs taking 50% pay cuts
Due to Sony’s financial woes, posting losses for several consecutive years, company CEO Kaz Hirai and several other executives will be taking 50% pay cuts in the near future.
This is a similar move to what Nintendo did with their executives after the 3DS was poorly received in 2011 and again in 2014 with the Wii U’s abysmal sales.
Not only does Kaz Hirai lose out on half of his pay, he’s giving up his annual bonus as well. Sony as a whole is going through some transitions and it appears that the success of the PS4 is their rock right now, while other parts of their business flounder.
