Two New Platforms Coming to Wii U Virtual Console, One for 3DS VC

The Wii U Virtual Console is getting a little bit of a facelift. No, there is still no news on Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast or GameCube games making it to the eShop.

That said, two great console additions appear set to hit Nintendo’s next-gen digital store. Specifically Turbo-graphx 16 and MSX games will be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console at some point in the future.

Not wanting to be left out but the 3DS will also get some Turbo-graphx 16 games on the 3DS eShop.

Its nice to see Nintendo add some quasi-new platforms to 3DS/Wii U services even if we already saw some of these on the Wii Shop Channel. I still don’t understand why Nintendo hasn’t simply merged the Wii Shop Channel into the Wii U eShop like how they merged the DSi shop into the 3DS eShop in June 2011. Sure, some DSiWare titles didn’t get into the 3DS store but most did.

Hopefully Nintendo merges, or at least comes up with some sort of trick to access the Wii Shop Channel through the eShop, sometime in the future.
