Rumor: Medal of Honor: Warfighter coming to Wii U this fall
The Examiner thinks Medal of Honor: Warfighter is coming to Nintendo’s new home console, the Wii U.
Medal of Honor has rumored for the Wii U since earlier this year and it really wouldn’t be much of a surprise. EA demonstrated at E3 2011 how well the Wii U runs the Frostbite engine and Medal of Honor is great game to debut on the new platform.
EA is showing off some new titles tonight and will reveal more Wii U support as well. Perhaps the Examiner knows something we don’t know yet as a lot of times the mainstream press gets to see stuff before it gets revealed.
The Examiner says:
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is scheduled to be released in North America on October 23, 2012. It will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, PC, and even Wii U.
The fact that they say “and even” really makes me think this is legit. Take into account the rumors of Medal of Honor on the Wii U from all the way back in March and this seems like a no-brainer.
It is interesting that Medal of Honor will debut on the Wii U this holiday when Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is expected to hit the Wii U as well. One would think Medal of Honor will likely not perform as well at retail on the Wii U if it is launching alongside a brand new Call of Duty game.
If customers want a shooter on their Wii U on day one they are probably more likely to choose a Call of Duty if available or even Zombi U for something more supernatural.
We’ll keep you posted on everything EA reveals later tonight. While this isn’t 100% likely to come true it sure does seem possible. Especially when Ubisoft is raving about how little their Wii U ports of 360/PS3 games cost them.
