SNES Classic outsold Switch, PS4, Xbox in September

The NPD Group revealed this morning that the single best selling home console in the United States during September was,… the SNES Classic. Yes, the $80 micro-console that is home to 21 classic SNES games sold better than the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.

Nintendo’s good news doesn’t stop there. The Switch was the best selling current-gen console, besting the Xbox One and PS4 despite the wave of Destiny 2 marketing.

For consumer spending overall on gaming, Sony’s PS4 led the way.

It is impressive that a re-release of a 20+ year old console can sell so many units. It had to have sold 300k+ I imagine to beat out the Switch and PS4.
