Yakuza Kiwami 2 announced for PS4

Sega finally announced Yakuza Kiwami 2 today in Japan. The remake of the 2007 PS2 classic will release in Japan on December 7th and likely sometime in 2018 in the west. It will release on PS4 only.

This remake puts the original game in the new Dragon Engine, updating the graphics, story, combat and audio. Series favorite Goro Majima will be playable in Kiwami 2 in a brand new part of the game’s story, tailored just for him. The Yakuza Studio dropped hints during the game’s reveal that Makoto (from Yakuza Zero) will return as well, likely involved with Majima. Yakuza Kiwami 2 takes place 19 years after the events of Yakuza Zero, the last game Makoto appeared in.

What a time to be a Yakuza fan folks!
