Actor outs Grand Theft Auto 6 on resume UPDATE: Rumor Wasted!

UPDATE: It looks like this was an elaborate hoax. The actor, Tim Neff, spoke with PC Games N and said that he hasn’t worked with Rockstar since GTA V. The actor said this:

That isn’t my page, account or résumé. I don’t even know that website. I worked on GTA 5 a long time ago and haven’t done anything since. Sorry for the confusion. It seems I’m being trolled online really badly

We apologize for posting the story as it now is clear it was a hoax. We will likely have to wait several more years for GTA VI.

Tim Neff, a stunt and motion capture actor, recently added Grand Theft Auto VI to his resume of work. This is major news because Rockstar has yet to reveal the sequel to 2013’s blockbuster game.

GTA V released on PS3/360 in September 2013, PS4/Xbox One in November 2014 and on PC in 2015. The game has sold over 70 million copies, easily making it the best selling non-bundled game of all-time. GTA Online has been a bigger success than Take Two, the game’s publisher, could have ever imagined as the company makes $1 billion off online micro-transactions in GTA Online annually.

The actor, Tim Neff, lists motion capture work for Red Dead Redemption 2, the first game Rockstar will release since GTA V in 2013. RDR2 was originally slated to release this fall before getting delayed into 2018.

Rockstar and Take Two have yet to announce a sixth Grand Theft Auto game but its obvious that it will happen. If motion capture work has already begun it would likely be for a cinematic reveal trailer, much like how GTA V’s first trailer was released in late 2011, nearly two years before it released.

GTA VI will be a current-generation title and will likely push the Xbox One and PS4 further than GTA V could, since it will be made from the ground-up for these systems. With GTA Online being so successful I could see Rockstar simply keeping the existing GTA Online but adding a new location if GTA VI takes players outside of Los Santos.

We are likely in for a long wait until the game’s official reveal so buckle in folks!
