Don’t Starve: Giant Edition coming to Vita on Sept. 2nd
Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will hit the PS Vita on September 2nd, feeding Vita owners with a much needed and quality indie gaming meal that will keep them busy for weeks.
Klei Entertainment revealed this news today on the Playstation Blog, saying:
The Giant Edition costs $14.99, and includes the Reign of Giants expansion. This expansion is usually $4.99, and we’ve bundled it in for everyone. It includes new characters, seasons, biomes, and other challenges that will happily kill you.
Unfortunately, in order for us to get the game on Vita, we had to rewrite a bunch of backend code to optimize it. Because of this, the save games are not compatible with PS4, so there is no cross play.
Its good that the game still supports cross buy even if cross play had to be nixed. Don’t Starve is a wonderful and addictive survival game that PC/PS4 players are already very familiar with.
If you received the game free in January from Playstation Plus you should get the Vita version, along with the Vita version of the game’s expansion, at no extra cost.
