Rise of Tomb Raider is cross-gen, also coming to last-gen consoles

Here’s some disappointing news for Tomb Raider fans. It appears that Rise of the Tomb Raider, thought to be only for PS4/Xbox One and set to release holiday 2015, may be a cross-gen title.

The official Xbox listing for the game says its coming to Xbox 360 as well as Xbox One. Not only that but Amazon has lists it for Xbox 360. There currently aren’t any listings for PS3 but you’d have to imagine Sony’s last gen console would get it too if the 360 is.

I, like many of you, was hoping that 2015 would be the year that the cross-gen title died out. Other than Mortal Kombat X and MGSV, there’s a lot of next-gen exclusive titles coming out in 2015. Sadly it appears that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be held down potentially by its last-gen counterparts.

hopefully it’s at least being ported by another studio

Desperate for sales. Clearly you’re misusing your funds, but hey, thanks for making the next gen games nothing but a slightly prettier linear game from last gen. We appreciate that wonderful use of hardware.
