Nintendo: Wii U No Longer Sold At A Loss

Here’s some very big news. Nintendo revealed at their Fiscal Year Investors Meeting today that the Wii U is no longer sold at a loss.

Previously they were selling the $300 Wii U at a loss per unit. It isn’t clear how much money they make on each unit but now that it’s a profit they won’t be in the red as much as they were this past fiscal year, barring any loss creating price cuts.

This is really good news for Nintendo. Even if the Wii U continues to sell poorly, at least they’ll be making money on it from now on.
