The retailer had this to say about Pikmin 3′s launch at their stores:
Pikmin 3, that came out nine years after Pikmin 2, is having a really good start. Sales at Tsutaya are comparable to the release of Super Mario Bros U and have driven greater sales of Wii U units.
New Super Mario Bros U moved 163,528 copies during its debut week for reference. Media Create sales numbers for last week will be out tomorrow morning so expect to see a boost for Wii U. How much? I don’t know but I’m willing to say it increase Wii U sales to at least 30k with at least 100k copies of Pikmin 3 sold.Pikmin 3 moving Wii U systems in Japan, sales as strong as New Super Mario Bros U,
