A former Valve employee’s LinkedIn profile has revealed that Valve is indeed working on the Source Engine 2. Or at least they were. Tom Leonard worked at Valve for a very long time. He played a big role in games like Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. Now he’s looking for a job and his resume reveals an interesting bit about his work from late 2010 up until last month.

This is some pretty big news even if it isn’t unexpected. Valve is clearly working on a next-generation game engine, an Source 2 seems like a no-brainer.
Hopefully we see this engine in action sometime soon followed by a new Half-Life game in the near future. We’ve waited long enough Valve!
