Lego City: Undercover will be hitting the Wii U this coming Tuesday. A lot of gamers are anticipating its release it looks to bring the tried and true GTA open-world formula to the Lego brand.

But if you were hoping to download the game onto your Wii U at midnight instead of driving to a retailer to pick up the game you should think twice. The download requires users to have an external hard drive connected to their Wii U since it takes up 22GB of storage. This news comes from today’s press release on the game.

LEGO City Undercover will be available March 18 at retail stores and in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U. (You must have an external hard drive to download this software. Sold separately. Visit support.nintendo.com for information about storage options.

Most 32GB users have 25GB after all system updates and whatnot. So while its plausible that you could squeeze in Lego City onto your Wii U system memory, it isn’t likely. This is a bit disappointing for those hoping a digital download of the game would help with those super-long loading screens we’ve been hearing so much about but don’t own a hard drive.

So if you want Lego City you’ll need to have an external hard drive or a retail copy.
