Research firm Forrester (you must be a registered user to access this information) says that consumers love Nintendo. Forrester surveyed over 7,500 consumers and asked these people about 150 different companies. They asked how well these companies addressed their needs, how easy they were to do business with and whether they were enjoyable to do business with.
Nintendo got a rating of 83 out of 100 in regards to consumer service for the Wii and DS. They are the highest rated consumer electronics maker, beating out Microsoft, Apple and Sony for best consumer experience.
This could be due to the fact that Nintendo products typically don’t break easily. Maybe its due to the large amount of awesome games for the DS. There could be many explanations for this high rating. The 83 rating is classified as “good” by Forrester. A rating of 85 out of 100 is classified as “excellent” by Forrester so Nintendo barely missed out on that one.
Sony and Microsoft were rated as well. Microsoft was rated “ok” at 74, and Sony barely missed being classified as “ok” with a rating of 76. Apple managed to get a 79 out of 100 consumer experience rating.
I think it is a pretty big accomplishment for Nintendo to beat out Apple for best consumer experience in regards to electronic devices. When it comes to consumer experience it appears people prefer Nintendo over the other two console manufacturers, at least with the data Forrester collected.
