We’re hearing that Best Buy’s weekly ad for the week of 12/9 through 12/15 will feature a $159.99 3DS XL units. You will be able to choose from the blue, red, and pink units. The Mario Kart 7 bundle is not included in this deal.
I wonder if this is a price drop on the hardware all around. The regular 3DS system has been rumored to have a price drop to $139.99 around this week.
Nintendo is holding three Nintendo Direct Presentations tomorrow in Japan, North America and Europe. Perhaps they will reveal lower price points for both the 3DS and 3DS XL. I’m leaning towards the normal 3DS getting the price drop only.
What I’m thinking is that Nintendo stops shipping 3DS XL units that don’t include games and opt to only have the Mario Kart 7 bundle for $199 at stores. (And the $199 Layton Pink bundle too)
It would make sense for Best Buy to sell the normal XL’s that don’t include Mario Kart 7 for $159 next then this way as Nintendo may begin focusing on a $199 XL unit with the game.
