It remains to be seen whether the Wii U is catching on or not. We’ll have to wait until after the holidays and possibly into Spring Break to really tell how Nintendo’s new console is doing with consumers.
But in Europe Nintendo allows retailers to set the prices on their hardware. Most British retailers have been selling the Wii U Premium bundle (the 32GB Black with Nintendo Land) for £299.
Zaavi is currently selling the Wii U Premium set at the time of this post for,… £224.
That translates to about $300 in US dollars. That would be about $50 savings over what the Deluxe bundle costs in the States, and its £76 off the normal price. Of course you have to be living in this particular European country to take advantage of this deal.
Still, it is crazy to see the best Wii U SKU’s price drop so fast. Even if this is a one-time thing I wonder why Zaavi wants to sell the system for so cheap.
