Since Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 3 was released, the wildly successful GTA series captivated its audience. With the new edition there has been much speculation to whether the game will evolve or stay similar. A full game review will be created once the release date sneaks closer, Rockstar Games has confirmed it will be a Spring 2013 release.
Game Informer says there will be no limited areas, making GTA 5 the biggest open world in the game’s history. This world is larger than San Andreas, GTA 4 and Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption combined! GTA 5′s storyline involves three interwoven character plots, which you can switch to most of the time. This game is more like a role playing game, due to each specific character having their own unique abilities.
New Characters: Michael, Trevor and Franklin
The first character, Michael, is an ex-bank robber in his early 40s who retired after his cooperation with the Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB). Michael is the father of two teenage children and through scenes in the game, the player can tell he despises his wife Amanda. (Fun fact) Michael is also the narrator of the original GTA 5 trailer.
You also meet Trevor, a former war veteran and a “drugged out psychopath.” He’s an experienced pilot and is a strong contribution to flying missions.
Lastly, we have Franklin, a repo man in his mid 20s, described as a “young and ambitious hustler.”
Characters will have the opportunity for improved shooting and melee combat. There will also be more vehicles than previous GTA games, including mountain bikes, all-terrain vehicles, jet skis, BMXs, road bikes, dirt bikes, numerous cars and trucks, helicopters and planes, while vehicle manufacturers are still fictional.
More Mini-Games and Activities
With a variety of side missions, mini-games and other activities, including base-jumping, tennis, jet skiing, golf, yoga, scuba and triathlons, the player will be constantly busy during gameplay. GTA 5 includes a full golf course, gym and a free range scuba territory along the coastline of Los Santros. The game allows for rappelling down the sides of buildings, but Rockstar Games has not confirmed whether this will be restricted to mission play or not.
Property is not going to be available for purchase and GTA 4′s romance feature will be removed. No major actors are involved in any of the main characters, like previous versions using Samuel L. Jackson, Peter Fonda, James Woods, Ray Liotta and other notable celebrities.
All of the changes aside, GTA 5 will be an adventure and thrill to play while many fans await its arrival this Spring!
