Infamous analyst Michael Patcher revealed on the Video Game Awards that Call of Duty Black Ops 2′s attached rate on the Wii U was 5%.
The Wii U sold 425k copies during the November NPD tracking period. When you calculate it that means the Wii U version sold roughly 21k copies. That’s not a very good number but we must remember that the NPD only tracked 7 days in November of which the Wii U was released.
For comparison Call of Duty 2 sold to nearly three quarters of Xbox 360 buyers back in 2005. PS3 players only bought 25k copies of Call of Duty 3 in its first few weeks during the PS3 launch. Both of those games came out before the series really exploded so take this for what you will.
These numbers would explain the low user base online. Pachter is more than likely correct on this number though I really hope he’s wrong.
We’ll update this post when we get footage of Pachter making his statement.
