3DS passes 9 million mark in Japan

Media Create has announced that the Nintendo 3DS has officially passed 9 million units sold in Japan since its release.

You can argue that the 3DS isn’t performing as well as it should be outside of Japan. It’d be hard to argue with you there. It isn’t flopping, but it certainly isn’t stacking up well to DS Lite numbers.

That said no one can deny how the 3DS has the entire Japanese market on lock-down. The PS Vita literally needs a miracle at this point to convince the average Japanese consumer (and some would say worldwide consumer) to choose it over the 3DS for their portable gaming needs.

Congratulations Nintendo on reaching 9 million units!
