Surprisingly there hasn’t been much information on the battery life of the Wii U Pro Controller.
Sure, we know the Wii U Game Pad lasts up to 5 hours on one charge, but the more “hardcore” controller for the new platform should have much longer battery life due to not having a screen right?
Well it does. Dramatically better battery life. GameStop’s listing for the Wii U Pro Controller was recently updated and let the cat out of the bag, saying:
the Wii U Pro Controller features the dual analog sticks and ergonomic button layout that you’ve come to expect, as well as a rechargeable battery that can last up to 80 hours on a single charge.
80 hours! That’s a lot. For reference, the Xbox 360 controller with the battery from the play and charge kit will last about 25-30 hours. If Wii U Pro controller has rumble I couldn’t tell in the time I’ve spent going hands-on with it.
GameStop also confirms that the Pro Controller won’t work on Wii games that originally used the Classic Controller saying, “Not compatible with the Wii system or games.”
Games that support the Wii U Pro Controller are Rayman Legends, Black Ops 2, and Zombi U (multi-player only)
Wii U Pro Controller battery last 80 hours on one charge, doesn't work with any Wii games,
