Valve’s Drew Bliss spoke at a Ubuntu Developer Summit in Denmark this past weekend. He stated that all new source-engine games will work on Linux, and that Steam will release for Linux soon bu didn’t offer up a specific date.
One thing he said will surely cause debates across the web, Bliss stated at this conference that Linux is more viable for gaming than Windows 8.
Valve and other PC developers have been very vocal in their criticisms of Windows 8. I don’t doubt that Linux could be a better platform to develop for in theory, but we shouldn’t kid ourselves and expect Linux-game sales data to approach data for the same games on Windows computers.
