Apple announces iPad Mini @ $329, iPad 4 @ $499
Apple announced what many people saw coming today, new iPad models.
They announced a 16GB iPad Mini model that will sell for $329. It features a 7.9-inch screen, and the new lightning bolt connector for charging. It’s also 53% lighter than the iPad 4. It features the same ten-hour battery of every iPad and basically is an iPad 2 in terms of hardware sporting a dual-core A5 processor and 512MB RAM.
Yea, it isn’t the revelation in tablet computing everyone thought it would be. I think a lot of people were guessing it would come in at $249.
The iPad 4 is coming to stores soon as well. It features,… just about everything the current iPad which released earlier this year. And at the same price. The CPU is suppose to be twice as fast, but forgive me if I’m a bit underwhelmed at these “changes”.
I think Apple really had an opportunity to pull another big game changer with the iPad Mini today, but what we got was a slightly stubbier, shorter tablet with a slight price cut, and not up to date hardware. Don’t worry gamers, the people screaming at the top of their lungs that smartphones and tablets are going to kill game consoles are still crazy.
