Renegade Kid’s critically acclaimed Nintendo eShop game Mutant Mudds is coming to PCs everywhere in the near future and with 20 new levels over the 3DS version.
It’s unclear if the game will maintain the same immersive 3D that the eShop version was praised for.
It hasn’t been announced if the 20 new levels will make their way to the Nintendo 3DS version via DLC or if they do if they will cost anything but it certainly is likely considering how much Renegade Kid loves the 3DS platform.
When asked whether these new levels will make their way to the 3DS version of the game Jools Watsham said on Twitter that: “Many are asking if the 20 new levels in the special ‘Grannie Edition’ of Mudds coming to PC will make their way to the eShop. It’s possible.”
Renegade Kid’s press release had this to say:
Mutant Mudds Invading Your PC Soon!
Austin, Texas – July 12, 2012 – Today, Renegade Kid announced that Mutant Mudds, the critically acclaimed 12-bit platformer, will soon be available through numerous digital distribution partners on PC (Windows).
In addition to the 40 challenging levels featured in the original Mutant Mudds, players who purchase this special ‘Grannie Edition’ on PC will be treated to 20 brand new levels!
Our hero, Max, may be just a 2D sprite, but he can leap into the third dimension by jetting between the background and the foreground playfields with his trusty jetpack in this unique dimensionally-woven experience.
Armed with a heavy-duty water cannon, Max has what he needs to vanquish his long-term nemesis: the Mutant Mudds. Max must blast and hover his way across the soiled landscape to seek out mysterious Water Sprites. Legend says collecting all of the mysterious Water Sprites will wash the filthy Mutant Mudds away for good!
“The PC release of Mutant Mudds is something very special to us,” said Jools Watsham, Owner and Director at Renegade Kid. “We have designed 20 new levels for those who have mastered the original Mutant Mudds. We hope players enjoy the new tier of gameplay these levels bring to the game.”
