ESA gives up on SOPA, gamers rejoice.
By Kevin Douglas Femmel
(Jan. 20, 2012) — The Entertainment Software Association has officially given up their support of SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act. The past few days have been especially hard on the controversial bill. It appears to be killed off, or at least for a while until a revised version is drafted.
The ESA had this to say,
” we call upon Congress, the Obama Administration, and stakeholders to refocus their energies on producing a solution that effectively balances both creative and technology interests.”
So put down your pitchforks people, this entire saga appears to be winding down altogether, if not at least to a temporary lull.
