Resident Evil: Revelations release date announced (Jan/Feb 2012)

How can you say no to that frightening eye?

(Oct. 8th, 2011) — Are you disappointed after the Resident Evil 6 trailer that leaked online a few weeks ago proved to be fake? Don’t fret. As long as you’ve got a Nintendo 3DS then you’ll be able to play the next major installment in the series a lot sooner than some thought. Resident Evil Revelations takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield return with some new characters to bridge the gap between the last two main RE games. The demo came out earlier this year with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.

As one of the most high profile third party games for the young 3DS platform, RE:R is proving to be stunner. The graphics are jaw dropping on a handheld, and in my opinion besting every Resident Evil game that isn’t on the Xbox 360 or PS3. This is one of my most anticipated titles, and thankfully once gamers settle down from playing endless hours of Mario Kart 7 during and after Christmas they won’t have to wait long for another must-have 3DS game. Resident Evil Revelations is releasing January 27th in Europe, and Feb. 7th in the United States.

Also, GameStop has revealed they will be giving away a pretty neat Resident Evil case for 3DS owners if they pre-order it. The case shows the eyeball from the cover of the game when out of sunlight. With the Super Mario 3D Land Tanooki Mario keychain, I’d have to say there are some cool 3DS pre-order gifts coming out lately. Let’s hope that continues.

Pre-Order the game at GameStop and get this awesome 3DS case.
